Another Shoot with Jesse

This time, we went for natural light, and got some great results. Thanks again to this very professional and gifted model.

Human Power

Attended a friend's graduation last Saturday. It was held at the Boeing Air & Space Museum, where I snapped this shot of the first fully-human-powered airplane.

Friday's Child

Friday night I had a blast shooting Jesse, a very talented model who brought a terrific energy and a bottle of wine to the shoot. Watch for more photos of him to come. We're shooting again this Saturday. Thanks again, Jess...

Please Stand By

Do not attempt to adjust your screen. The jpg at right is what I started seeing as I was doing a headshot shoot on Monday night, shortly after removing my camera from the tripod. I had forgotten to take out the remote shutter release... and forgot to turn the damned thing off. Apparently that, along with the jostling of the camera, shorted something out. Now when I try to shoot anything, I get a totally black photo. It appears my good old Canon D-60 has given up the ghost, thanks to clumsy me.

Fortunately, my good friend Jeff is going to let me borrow his Canon 20D for a shoot on Friday. I am already shopping for a replacement camera, likely a Canon Rebel Xti due to its affordability. On the heels of replaceing my computer last month and then having to get a new keyboard, this is not the best time to be making another major purchase. But to be without a studio camera...? My mind reels.

In the meantime I still have plenty of shots from recent shoots to post here just as soon as I get signed releases. Stay tuned...

Quincy

On Labor Day, I had the privilege to work with Quincy, one of the nicest models I have yet to work with. The large light kits normally in residence at the studio were out being used by another photographer, so I was forced to use only the natural light coming through the large windows of the space. Luckily it was 9 a.m., and a strong direct sun gave me all the light I needed.

One-Out-Of-Three Weekend

I had a photoshoot scheduled for Friday night. On Thursday, I got an email saying that his job was too busy and we'd have to reschedule.

On Saturday, a guy online who had been chatting with me for a while agreed at the last minute to a quick, spontaneous one-hour photoshoot so he could have new pics for using in online profiles. The shot here is one he agreed to let me post. He liked them.

On Sunday, I had a noon shoot scheduled with a very sexy Mexican man I met at my gym and have been in contact for months now, but he failed show up or call/email to cancel. At 6pm today, I ran into him online, and he explained a family emergency had caused him to have to leave town suddenly and he apologized.

Just another weekend of shoots and misses.

Laborious Weekend

Busy weekend: Still catching up on past photo projects while still doing new ones. (Yes, I'm insane, but it's also the only thing keeping me going now.) Also having computer problems again (this time a keyboard issue). Above is a photo from a shoot I did with my good friend (and personal trainer) Mark Bryant.
