Always Rains, Never Bores

Saw some stunning skies as I bussed back from work tonight. Got a shot while still on the bus (of our Extraordinarily Expensive Baseball Stadium) then jumped off at the earliest bus stop in Seattle and rushed toward the waterfront to try to capture it. Snapped a few along the way. By the time I got to the piers, though, the sunset was fading fast. But I still loved the dinosaur-like silhouettes I got.

Deep Breaths
The unfortunate hallmark of my old hometown is Potlatch Industries, a former lumber mill and now a paper mill. I recall a newspaper article in the 80s reporting it belched out 280 tons of chloroform in one year alone, giving a new meaning to the term Sleepy Little Town. It explains a lot. I snapped this just as I was driving out of town last week.

Favorite Places
Over the weekend I accompanied my good friend Anil on a birthday pilgrimage south of Seattle to the First Church of Scandinavian Design to buy him a bed. On the way home, we decided, as it was his birthday, to stop at our favorite places. We got me fries and him chocolate. We revelled in our shame.
